The original 11th century village of Tamacine [ﺑﻠﻴﺪة ﻋﺎﻣﺮ or sometimes written as Témacine] was destroyed in a flood in 1988. While there is a new village nearby, this is what remains, a spectacular ghost town. It is approximately six miles [ten kilometers] south of Touggourt.
